Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer.
The training is funded through the Department of Education's, National Skills Fund and forms part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, helping everyone gain Skills for Life.
If you’re aged 19 and over and looking to change sectors or progress in your current industry, a Skills Bootcamp could be your next step to a better job with more job security and higher wages over time.
Skills Bootcamps offer funded courses of up to 16 weeks, providing the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast track to an interview with a local employer or progress with an existing employer.
The flexible approach allows you to train around your existing commitments and there are opportunities for many types of learners - whether you are currently employed, unemployed, recently graduated or wanting to re-enter work.
The Skills Bootcamp went above and beyond my expectations - it was the perfect combination of theory, practical and demonstration.
We are currently funding a number of Skills Bootcamps that have been designed closely with local employers and training providers, focused at A-Level equivalent and above (including GCSE in some sectors).

City of Bristol College have put together a unique consortium to support the driver shortage within the Logistics sector.
Working with Wiltshire Transport Training Ltd and Skills for Logistics the Skills Bootcamp will support both new entrants into the sector as well as employers who wish to upskill their existing staff.
The Skills Bootcamp participants will learn the knowledge needed to become a professional lorry driver and will be supported to gain the class C LGV licence.

City of Bristol College and Skills for Logistics have designed a unique Skills Bootcamp in Logistics Management. This course is ideal for those looking to develop their skills and knowledge in the transport, warehousing and general management environments. It can be used as an in-house development tool or to give a broad multidisciplinary grounding to those that may be undecided about future career pathways. It will also support new entrants into the sector gain logistics management opportunities.
The course looks at the principles of warehousing and the complexities of vehicle management, as well as modules in general management techniques.
The course lasts for 15 weeks with 4 hours per week virtual classroom (group) plus additional 1:1 project session time/review and support. For those looking to this as a gateway to employment interviews can then be arranged with the very real prospect of employment.
The course will culminate in a City of Bristol College and Skills for Logistics certificate in Warehousing and Transport Management.
For those companies who wish to book out an entire cohort (12), the course content can be tailored specifically to your company needs.

Whether you're looking to become a driver or want to upskill, the HGV (LGV) Skills Bootcamp will support you to gain Cat C.
This Skills Bootcamp is aimed at unemployed individuals who have no, or limited, prior experience of driving HGVs, who are looking to get a job in this sector.
The course includes elements of theory, distance learning and practical training, the initial 3 weeks will be delivered in Bristol, with the practical training being delivered at our Construction Training Centre in Weston-super-Mare.

Working with P&R Hurt Training, Bridges Electrical Engineers are delivering a Skills Bootcamp focused on the upskilling and certification of existing Electrical staff within Bridges, others currently working in the industry and the unemployed, to be competent and qualified to work in `Hazardous Areas` within the utilities industry.
Participants in the training will receive industry recognised `CompEx` certification which will allow them to gain employment in an expanding sector.

The Skills Bootcamp in CAD for Construction is a 16-week course delivered by HBXL and CPJ Education.
The remote online training is suited to a wide range of learners, such as employed looking to upskill, unemployed looking for new skills, the self-employed keen to provide a new service, graduates looking to enter the job market, and those looking to return to work after a break.
The learners, supported throughout by a tutor, first gain an understanding of construction with the focus on residential, plus the importance of health and safety in design. During the technical part of the course, they produce a portfolio of designs using PlansXpress, an industry standard CAD software tool used by residential building firms across the UK. The learners conclude with sessions on presentation and interview skills.
On successful completion, the learner receives a Certificate of Achievement, a Career Progression Plan, and mentoring for up to six months.

The Skills Bootcamp in Construction Management Skills is a 16-week course delivered by HBXL and CPJ Education.
The remote online training is suited to a wide range of learners, such as employed looking to upskill, unemployed looking for new skills, the self-employed keen to provide a new service, graduates looking to enter the job market, and those looking to return to work after a break.
The learners, supported throughout by a tutor, gain an understanding of the role of the Site Supervisor and Manager, health and safety in construction, plus CV, interview and presentation skills. During the technical part of the course they explore, among a number of topics, modern construction methods, Building Information Modelling (BIM), modern slavery, and equality, diversity and inclusion. They also receive interview practice with a regional/national construction firm.
To conclude, each learner attends the CITB Supervisor Safety Training Scheme. On successful completion of this 2-day course they are given CITB certification, valid for five years, readying them for the Site Manager qualification in the future. They also receive from the Skills Bootcamp, a Career Progression Plan, and mentoring for up to six months.

An entry level 8-week dual skilling training programme to provide an entry into construction/engineering for anyone over 19 wishing to take up this career path.
This course is designed to provide the necessary health, safety, and practical skills necessary to become a mechanical/electrical Mate working as part of an installation team at clients sites across Southern England.

This 15-week course is aimed at getting adults who are either unemployed or are looking to upskill into more meaningful employment, giving those who run their own businesses another skill to add to their offerings as well as working with employers who want to upskill their existing workforce.
Classes take place once a week at Bath College’s Somer Valley Campus in Radstock, to ensure that they are accessible to learners who have other commitments whether in life or work. It combines theory with practical sessions taught by lecturers with a combination of over 30 years of industry experience in our professional and fully equipped workshops. MIG or MAG welding is taught with coded welding to a BS9606-1 testing standard. Learners are also given the opportunity to gain a CSCS card as part of the course. SGS College is working with Staffordshire Training Services to offer Skills Bootcamps in Green Technologies. Whether employed, self-employed or un-employed, through these Skills Bootcamps you will have the opportunity to upskill in green technologies in order for you to further develop your skills and profession or to be able to apply for new roles in the low carbon sector.
SGS College are offering modular training so you can pick and choose a number of modules to suit your needs, with everyone completing the mandatory ‘Introduction to Environmental Technologies’ along with personalised careers information, advice and guidance.

Retrofit Advisor: This is aimed at people working in social housing or its supply chain, that will be offering retrofit information advice and guidance to residents and members of the public.
Retrofit Assessor: Aimed at upskilling Domestic Energy Assessors to be Retrofit Assessors. Graduates will be able to work as retrofit assessors and perform retrofit surveys on domestic properties.

Coding Black Females are running a 16 week AWS re/Start programme to enable Black women to gain technical training, cloud certification and start a career in the tech industry.
The Skills Bootcamp is aimed at Black women who are currently unemployed or wanting to transition into the tech industry and gain their first entry-level tech role.
Over the 16 weeks, our participants will train 4 days a week during the evenings and on Saturdays to gain an introduction to cloud computing, in-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS). On completion, they will gain AWS Cloud Practioner Certification and be introduced to a range of our employer partners for interviews. Alongside technical knowledge and training, we’ll also put together a range of inspirational technical talks, provide employability training, mentoring, wellbeing support, childcare and equipment where necessary.
