The “High Performance Full Stack Software Developer: Skills Bootcamp” is a 16-week, full-time training programme that prepares learners for careers in the digital workforce as Software Developers. Delivered in partnership with Code Institute, the programme covers:

Summary

Our Skills Bootcamp, created in partnership with renowned local studios Aardman and A Productions, focuses on 3D animation using Blender, where participants respond to an industry brief, working as a remote animation studio to craft a film in just 10 weeks.

What and how you will learn

Learners will set specific goals with their tutor and the Learning Outcomes Coordinator; this will be reflected upon at the end of each session and reviewed in week 6 and week 12. Upon completing the course, learners will be prepared to either enter employment or start their own business.

Participants will learn sector-specific employability skills from the tutor with guest speakers featured throughout the Skills Bootcamp. This will include Cool Ventures sharing how to become self-employed with their new skills and Future Bright offering support to those in employment.

Digital data is the fuel that powers the engine of the global economy. On the Skills Bootcamp in Data Analytics and Machine Learning, delivered by Bath Spa University in partnership with The Data Place, Green Tech South West, Microsoft, Tech 4 Good, and Southwest 3SG, you’ll learn to understand and analyse this data. Learning about data science is valuable to any company, from statistics and insights across workflows to helping senior staff make better-informed decisions.

What and how you will learn

You should have aspirations for a career in the creative industries using digital technology, be looking to use the skills learnt to set up a self-employed business, or looking to secure new work.

You may be interested in web design, UX/UI design, agile project management or app development. While some previous knowledge is desirable, the most important factor is a positive mindset.

You must:

  • Be aged 19+
  • Be living in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire or North Somerset
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK
  • Agree to provide mandatory personal data and supplementary information on your career outcomes for up to eight months following completion of the Skills Bootcamp

What will you learn?

In this ten week theory and practical based Level 3 Skills Bootcamp in UI/UX Design, you’ll develop the fundamental skills to start your journey as a User Interface (UI) /User Experience (UX) Designer, set yourself up as self-employed or help you secure new freelance work.

You'll learn how to use industry standard tools to realise your ideas and answer problems when working on industry briefs and challenges and explore key aspects of the design process.

How will you learn?

Teaching will take place online, with the opportunity to attend in person workshops, which will be outlined to you within your first week. You'll receive six hours of compulsory online teaching a week.

You'll also have the opportunity to attend an optional Figma practical session every week from week two of your course, this will be one hour in length on a Wednesday. You'll be taught by highly experienced lecturers and also benefit from guest speakers, group exercises, and online learning.
