Discover how Skills Bootcamps helped Bridges Electrical Engineering Ltd to attract and retain top talent by offering professional development opportunities that are highly valued by their employees.
Bridges Electrical Engineering Ltd is a family owned engineering company with an established client base. The business has grown organically and has plans to continue that growth locally to the region. Bridges work with a broad range of commercial and industrial clients in the UK in water, power, quarrying, nuclear and waste recycling industries.
In order to match their ambitious business growth, they need to recruit and retain a motivated workforce.
To help with business growth, they have delivered a number of Skills Bootcamps including ‘Hazardous Area Working’.
The Skills Bootcamps has enabled Bridges to expand its workforce and provide employment opportunities to previously unemployed people. This includes the role of Trainee Panel Wire Person, working on the assembly and manufacture of control panels in a workshop environment.
Steve Spencer, Safety, Health, Environment & Wellbeing Director at Bridges, said: “Skills Bootcamps can be highly beneficial for employers in several ways. Firstly, they provide a cost-effective and efficient way to upskill existing employees, enabling them to take on new roles or responsibilities within the organisation. Secondly, Skills Bootcamps can also help employers to attract and retain top talent by offering professional development opportunities that are highly valued by employees. This can give organisations a competitive advantage in a difficult labour market.
“Finally, Skills Bootcamps can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the organisation, ensuring that employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to meet the company's current and future needs. This can help organisations to stay agile and adaptable in the face of changing market conditions and technological advances, ultimately leading to greater success and profitability.”
Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer.
