Summary

Bath College’s Property Maintenance Skills Bootcamp is for learners looking to start a new career or possibly are in a role in which property maintenance skills could help them expand or gain a promotion or additional responsibilities.

Learners will take on small projects across many property maintenance skills including painting and decorating, tiling, plastering, and plumbing. You will be initially assessed on your abilities, and we will aim to improve and build on these throughout the course.

We will also give you support in finding a role or starting your own business as local companies will attend the course to tell you what is available and how a new role can fit around your existing responsibilities.

The Focus Training Group

Summary

The Greens Skills Bootcamp is for practising electricians, who are 19+ and who haven't attended a previous Bootcamp. The Green Skills Bootcamp spans 10 weeks and includes three essential courses: the Solar PV (EAL Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems course), the Electric Vehicle Charging course (EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements for the Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Points, and our newly introduced EESS (EAL Level 3, Design, Install & Commission Electrical Energy Storage Systems) course. Please note that all participants must complete all three courses; partial enrolment is not permitted.

Entry requirements

This course is aimed at practicing electricians who wish to move into this sector. Candidates must have a good knowledge of the latest edition of BS7671, of inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations, and are required to sign a statement of competence.

  • Candidates must provide evidence that they are at least 19 years+
  • Candidates must provide evidence that they are a practicing electrician and hold one of the following:
  • Completed Installation Electrician Apprenticeship with The Focus Training Group
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)

What will you learn?

This course is designed to equip candidates with the skills and knowledge to be able to safely install, commission and hand-over small scale solar photovoltaic systems in line with statutory requirements and relevant codes of practice. The Electric Vehicle Charging course will provide candidates with the skills and knowledge to be able to safety install and commission electric vehicle charging equipment.

This EESS course is designed to equip candidates with the fundamental knowledge, understanding and practical skills involved with design, installation, and commissioning of electrical energy storage systems in a domestic dwelling.

Electric and Hybrid vehicles use completely different technology than most automotive technicians are used to.

Weston College has developed this comprehensive Bootcamp to enhance suitably qualified automotive technicians / mechanics knowledge, skill and confidence in Electric vehicle and hybrid technologies.

There are no formal requirements for this course. A passion for learning about electric vehicles, including their types, usage, benefits, and how they work, is key though.

This Skills Bootcamp Package is designed for existing heating engineers to be able to install air source heat pump technologies. Qualified Plumbers, Gas Installation & Maintenance Engineers and Heating & Ventilating (HVAC) Installers. You must be aged 19+ , have the right to work in the UK and live in the Bristol area.

What will you learn?

You will learn about the role of heat pumps in district energy systems and their future, energy mapping, strategy development, low-energy carbon heating and cooling, procurement of sound sustainable district energy systems, key components of a heat network, maintenance, what can go wrong, meter reading and billing, heat pump installation, and servicing. As well as skills to improve your employment prospects.

Organisational Sustainability is a tailored bootcamp for small businesses and sole traders who want to improve their leadership skills. It uses resources and expert speakers from small businesses who can relate to the situations faced by sole traders and micro businesses.

What will you learn?

The course will cover 8 masterclasses looking at subjects like: scope 1,2,3 emissions, waste, ethical branding, resilience etc.

Who this course is for

Future Leap's Organisational Sustainability is aimed at professionals who are looking to upskill and gain the knowledge and confidence to drive the sustainability agenda in their organisations. It consists of a mix of taught modules from a variety of subject matter experts, and input from individuals and businesses who have embedded sustainable performance into their own operations.

What you'll learn
