Leadership and Management for SMEs is a tailored bootcamp for small businesses and sole traders who want to improve their leadership skills. It uses resources and expert speakers from small businesses who can relate to the situations faced by sole traders and micro businesses.
Must be a learner working or intending to work in the West of England Combined Authority Region, over the age of 19.
The course will cover 8 masterclasses looking at subjects like: building a small team culture, creating a social mission, productivity and profit, time and resource management etc.
Courses will be a blend of online and in-class sessions with 8 weekly masterclasses delivered by a YTKO tutor and guest speaker from industry! 1-2-1 support will be available after each masterclass with exercises to do in your own time and bring to the next session.

A comprehensive understanding of project management throughout the project lifecycle. You will learn how to write a business case, appraising options and defining scope and requirements. You will learn how to plan a project so that it can successfully be completed on time and on budget, meeting its objectives. You will learn techniques to help with stakeholder management and communications, estimation and resources management, scheduling, and quality controls.
This course prepares you for the new version of the APM Project management qualification, so you will learn the new topics including transition management, sustainability, equality and diversity. You will also receive 1-2-1 career coaching, employability, C.V and interview preparation sessions, and hear from existing project managers to learn more about the project management sector.
Classes will be a mixture of in person and online class sessions. Sessions will be 6 hours long with plenty of breaks, and be a mixture of individual, and group activities, scenario based exercises using real-life examples and theoretical knowledge.
Professional Apprenticeships
Those wanting to go into project management but have never worked in the sector. Should have basic computer skills for word processing and spreadsheets, and an equivalent standard of level 2 maths and English functional skills or Grade 4/c and above at GCSE.
The basics of project management, lifecycles, how to write a business case, managing stakeholders and communication, managing resources and scheduling techniques. You will hear from current project managers learning about the sector and real case scenarios. You will also get employability support to help your practice for job interviews and develop your C.V. There will also be 1-2-1 coaching sessions to help you form your career choices and navigate your career journey into project management. You will learn all the topics required to sit the APM Project Management Fundamentals Qualification.

Our Skills Bootcamp is designed for individuals with little or no project management experience, working for an SME organisation in a non-traditional project management role who are looking to develop an understanding of the core principles of project management approaches to apply in their working practices to address a range of organisational scenarios.
City of Bristol College - Partners in Bristol
The course is for employed people who are looking to develop their leadership and management skills with the support of their employer.
You must be aged 19+ , have the right to work in the UK and live in the Bristol area.
You will learn about coaching methodologies, different styles of leadership, communication, and motivation. The course aims to equip you with employability and basic study skills while providing an up-to-date view of leader and management skills.

This Skills Bootcamp is for aspiring line managers, or for those with ambition to get into management in the near future.

You will learn the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to lead teams and individuals effectively. you will gain a Level 3 CMI qualification in leadership and management, and be given real examples to discuss with your peers how to problem solve.

Our Skills Bootcamp for Future Leaders is designed to empower current and aspiring leaders to excel in senior management roles. We will provide cutting-edge training in leadership, strategic thinking, business management, and innovation.
Be aged 19+ Live or work for an organisation based in in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset or North Somerset. Not currently be in full-time or part-time education. Have the right to live and work in the UK. Have not registered and attended (including partial completion) any other Skills Bootcamp since April 2024 from any provider. Work for an SME employer who has agreed for you to attend and achieve the required outcomes.
Our Skills Bootcamp is structured through a mixture of live tutor led interactive sessions, lunchtime learner forum and self-study resources. Alongside this, learners will be supported by an industry mentor who has extensive experience of working in a senior leadership position within the creative industries and our Career Coach who will work with you to reflect on your personal career aspirations and help build a roadmap to achieving these.
