Wind Turbine Balance of Plant and Civil Works Contract Opportunity

This is an invitation to tender for the Balance of Plant, including civils and electrical enabling works for a single turbine for Ambition Community Energy CIC (ACE), a community-led group working for Lawrence Weston Community in Bristol.

In July 2020 ACE’s planning application was approved by our City Council’s Planning Committee. In December 2020 a wind turbine was selected by a tender process; and negotiations are in hand with the preferred turbine supplier. It will have a height of 150m, is to be built on Council land in Avonmouth, and is expected to be operational by early 2022. The permission was granted for 25 years from commissioning. During operation It will produce enough low carbon electricity to power 3,500 homes and make CO2 savings of almost 2000 tons every year.
