Explore our 2 interactive cycling infrastructure maps.
Map 1: The ‘existing’ map shows a strategic overview of our existing cycle network across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and Bath & North East Somerset.
Map 2: The ‘committed map’ shows our understanding of cycle infrastructure schemes that are currently in development or have funding allocated or are currently being built across the West of England.
We would like your help in identifying where existing cycling infrastructure is located. Our current understanding is shown on the map as coloured lines. Please browse the map then click the 'Submit feedback' button and fill in the required information.
We recognise that cycle infrastructure is constantly changing – either being added to through new schemes or developments being delivered. We therefore require your input to help improve our understanding of the network and capture any missing permanent infrastructure. The infrastructure shown on the map was last updated in June 2023.
We have only included infrastructure where we are confident that cyclists of varying abilities can cycle, therefore some infrastructure where users mix with traffic may not be represented.
Whilst we have made all reasonable efforts to ensure this comprehensive network map is accurate, we recognise there will be cycling infrastructure missing or in the wrong location. If you come across these issues on the map, please use the feedback tool to highlight this.
As we receive comments on the existing network map, we will review these and update the network map where needed.
Similar feedback tools showing ‘committed’ and ‘proposed’ cycling infrastructure data will be made available later this year.
This map shows cycling schemes that are currently in the development phase which have an allocated funding source, have been previously publicly consulted or engaged upon, or schemes that are presently being constructed.
These schemes consist of schemes funded by the Active Travel Fund, City Region Sustainable Transport settlement, or Investment Fund that have not yet been built or are being constructed.
Liveable Neighbourhoods which are currently being brought forward with local communities have been included as these schemes could potentially include cycling related infrastructure. Schemes being developed by the private sector or third parties or being separately constructed by local authorities have not been included in this map.
From buses and trains, to walking and cycling, learn what investments we're making in travel in the West.
Our rich and diverse environment is integral to our region’s health and economic prosperity. Protecting and enhancing the environment is integral to all we do.
Led by the West of England Mayor, the Mayoral Combined Authority was set up in 2017 to deliver economic growth for the region and address some of our challenges, such as productivity and skills, housing and transport.
