The Multiply programme offers easy access to free courses and initiatives that can help develop individuals’ skills and confidence in numeracy. It also provides an opportunity for employers to collaborate with providers to deliver free, fully funded numeracy skills to their employees.

The Mayoral Combined Authority can announce the launch of £383,245 for Year 3 of the Multiply programme. To bring delivery of Multiply provision in line with Bristol and North Somerset, this funding call will be focused on Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

The Mayoral Combined Authority is looking for delivery partners to deliver innovative provision to help break down multiple barriers and increase numeracy confidence, supporting adults to move closer towards and ultimately onto mainstream maths provision at Entry Level three, Level one and Level two. This includes using methods such as developing a growth mindset, learning by stealth and sequenced bite sized chunks of learning which will support individuals to ultimately improve their numeracy skills.

How does the fund work?

The fund is focused on improving skills for adults 19+ that do not already have a GCSE at grade C (or equivalent) in Numeracy.

Employers can collaborate with providers to deliver free, fully funded numeracy skills training to their workforce, with low numeracy levels (below GCSE) or use their own in-house training functions to deliver training.

Education and Training Providers, Charities, Community Groups and Third Sector can apply for the fund to deliver fully funded numeracy skills training to help break down multiple barriers and increase numeracy confidence, supporting adults to move closer towards and onto mainstream Maths provision at Levels 1 and 2.
