Apply for funding to deliver SEND work experience
The West of England Careers Hub is seeking an experienced delivery partner to design and deliver a high-quality work experience programme for young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) in mainstream secondary schools across the West of England.
About the funding
Up to £60,000 is available to support delivery between October 2026 and July 2027. The successful organisation will work collaboratively with schools, employers and the Careers Hub to increase access to meaningful workplace experiences for young people with SEND, helping them develop confidence, career readiness and awareness of future pathways.
Who can apply?
We welcome applications from organisations with experience of:
- Delivering work experience and employer engagement programmes
- Working with schools and employers
- Supporting young people with SEND
- Measuring and demonstrating programme impact
- Developing sustainable employer partnerships

- Complete the application form and workbook
- Email your completed documents to gemma.perkins@westofengland-ca.gov.uk and vikki.wherlock@westofengland-ca.gov.uk, with the subject line “Work Experience - SEND in Mainstream call". You will be notified by email within one working day that your application has been received
To be considered, your application documents must be:
- completed in full and in English
- completed in Microsoft Word and submitted as a PDF
- signed and dated where required
The deadline for applications is midnight on Wednesday 9 September.
