About Bath College

Bath College provides vocational and academic courses in a wide range of subjects, helping students to find a suitable course to make sure they have the knowledge and skills for their chosen career.

As the largest provider of apprenticeships in Bath & North East Somerset, the college offers excellent opportunities for young people to earn and learn on the job.

The City Centre Campus gives students the opportunity to be in the middle of Bath’s vibrant atmosphere, which is easily accessible from Bristol, Wiltshire and the surrounding areas. Courses available include art and design, photography, business, hospitality and catering, hairdressing, complementary therapy, health and social care, IT, media, music and sport.

At the Somer Valley Campus, based in the rural location of Radstock, students study arboriculture, animal care, veterinary nursing and motor vehicle maintenance.

In addition, the Somer Construction Centre caters for 500 students and apprentices studying bricklaying, construction, carpentry and stonemasonry, as well as plumbing, electrical installation and refrigeration. Bath College is creating a centre of excellence for the West of England, helping learners to gain the practical and theoretical skills they need to secure and sustain employment in the construction industry.

Women into digital skills sessions

This taster lets you to dip your toes in the waters of the robotics and maker world by programming a robot with senses and movement. The robots come with easy-to-use electronic modules like motors, ultrasonic sensors and infrared receivers with heavy-duty mechanical parts providing hands-on experience programming a robot tank or a three-wheeled robot car.

The taster starts with graphical programming which makes programming easier through simply dragging and dropping function blocks. Once familiar with graphical programming you’ll move onto coding so that you have full control of the robots.
