The best investment opportunities from both sides of the Severn will be on display at the UK’s largest investment conference as part of the Western Gateway Pavilion at the UK’s Real Estate investment and infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) 2025.
The newly elected Mayor of the West of England will join other elected leaders from across South Wales and Western England as part of a cross border presence to attract more investment to the area.
UKREiiF connects places and businesses to drive sustainable, inclusive and transformative investment and regeneration in the UK. It is a key opportunity for local authorities to meet construction firms and investors to promote new developments and bring new businesses to the area.
This year, the Pavilion is being supported by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority and Cardiff Capital Region as event partners. Both organisations will be discussing some of the most ambitious developments taking place across the UK, at the Western Gateway Pavilion. This includes:
With other representation from the South West Wales Corporate Joint Committee and local authorities from Pembrokeshire to Swindon, the Western Gateway Pavilion is the best place to meet the leaders and planners driving the development for one of the UK’s fastest growing economies.
Cllr Mary Ann Brocklesby, Leader of Monmouthshire County Council and Chair of CCR, said:
“We are delighted to see South East Wales represented on this national stage once again. Our presence shows we are serious about our ambitions and the critical role that inward investment plays to drive inclusive growth and prosperity, in collaboration with the private sector”.
Helen Godwin, the new Mayor of the West of England, said:
“Whether it’s Bath Quays, Bristol Temple Quarter, Brabazon, or much more, the West of England is primed for investment – with billions already secured. New homes and new infrastructure are crucial for our growing region, which remains ambitious for the future.
“The West of England has had the strongest recent economic growth of any combined authority, testament to the innovation and efforts of our businesses and workers. Working with national government, our region is full of further opportunity which can be unlocked with the right investment.”
Sarah Williams-Gardener, Chair of the Western Gateway, said:
“We know from our research that South Wales and Western England form a natural economic geography that looks set to be the fastest growing economy outside of London over the next five years. Despite this, our businesses receive between £3-9m less investment on average than other parts of the UK.
“It is great to be returning again to UKREiiF with our ambitious partners looking to turbocharge our area. With a range of exciting developments in the pipeline, we have a real opportunity to build on success to deliver even more for the UK Economy and drive much needed new investment.
“Come and speak to decision makers from across the area at the Western Gateway Pavillion and find out how you can be a part of this ambitious area.”
Speakers include local authority leaders from Cardiff, Newport and Bristol and beyond and the new Mayor of the West of England. These leaders will be joined by Colin Skellett, Chief Executive of YTL Developments, and Lyn Garner, the new chair of the Temple Quarter LLP. The full agenda for the pavilion is available on the Western Gateway website.
