West of England leaders will vote on cash to tackle the climate emergency including retrofitting, to help bees, and to kick start a programme of electric car charging points at the quarterly meeting of the West of England Combined Authority led by Metro Mayor Dan Norris. A brand new climate action plan will also be unveiled setting out the scale of the challenge to meet the region’s ambitious net zero targets.
The meeting will take place in Kingswood Civic Centre on Friday 8 April at 1pm with the Metro Mayor and the leaders of Bath & North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council. The Chair of the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership will be there as a non voting member. This will be followed by a meeting of the Joint Committee at 3pm which will additionally be attended by North Somerset Council’s leader.
Members of the public can present submitted statements at both meetings. Up to 30 minutes will be available for statements.
Both meetings will be live-streamed and be available to view afterwards on the West of England Combined Authority’s YouTube channel.
