Wear a mask: the best gift we can give our NHS this winter

Thank you for wearing a face covering graphic and Mayor's logo

As Covid-19 case rates increase sharply across our region, Metro Mayor Dan Norris is asking residents across the West of England, once again, to come together to help protect our NHS and our regional recovery.

He is encouraging residents to:

  • Please wear a face covering if you can in enclosed spaces - and display the enclosed poster in your window.
  • Get jabbed if you are eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine (including the booster vaccine).
  • Wash your hands for 20 seconds regularly throughout the day.
  • Follow the latest NHS guidelines.

The Mayor is also contacting shops, restaurants and bars, providing them with posters to put up in their premises.

He said: “The toll of the pandemic on our region has already been large. Sadly too many lives have been lost. There has also been a sizeable economic cost.

“In the run up to Christmas, we all want to save lives, ensure the regional recovery is not damaged and protect our NHS.

“Together, we can help slow the spread of the virus. We’ve done it before and we can do it again.”

“I am asking businesses to please display the poster – downloadable here - and follow the advice to keep our communities as safe as possible.  Let’s give the NHS the best gift we can this Christmas.”
