People living and working in the West of England are being asked for their views to help shape new mobility hubs that aim to make it easier for people to access different types of transport when travelling in the region.
Mobility hubs are places that bring together different types of transport such as buses, e-scooters and e-bikes, and provide useful facilities and local information as well as providing a focal point for local communities.
The West of England Combined Authority, working with South Gloucestershire Council and Bristol City Council, will be trialling the hubs in clusters across South Gloucestershire and the North Bristol with larger hubs on public transport routes and at key destination points and smaller, local hubs in neighbourhoods giving more options to connect to public transport.
Residents and businesses can give their views about how they travel in and around the hub locations and what kind of facilities and information would be most useful. This could include seating, remote working spaces, play or exercise equipment, wayfinding to local parks and destinations, parcel lockers or public art displays.
The mobility hub trial is part of the Future Transport Zone - a series of transport innovations and trials, funded by the West of England Combined Authority and the Department for Transport, combining the latest in technology with improvements in infrastructure, to test out innovations which enable seamless car-free journeys.
