Metro Mayor urges extreme caution as Storm Eunice approaches

Metro Mayor Dan Norris is urging residents across the West of England to avoid travelling on Friday 18 February as Storm Eunice arrives.

The West of England Combined Authority, led by Metro Mayor Dan Norris, is the regional transport authority and is working closely with bus and train companies on their severe weather plans. Residents can keep up to date with latest travel information at Travelwest.info.

First Bus is suspending all bus services in Bristol (including metrobus, Bristol Park & Ride and Airport Flyer), South Gloucestershire and North Somerset until at least 1pm on Friday 18 February and GWR has announced a reduced train service.

West of England Metro Mayor Dan Norris said: “This is a dangerous storm. Please do not travel unless it is essential. All predictions show there will be serious disruption as Storm Eunice arrives. Don't risk your safety and please play your part in keeping the pressure off our amazing emergency services.”
