Mayor to West’s charities and small businesses: turn your roof into a “renewable power station” – £50K grants on offer

Grants for small and medium-sized firms plus charities to install money-saving, carbon-cutting solar panels on their roofs are available from the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority.

The mayoral solar scheme offers eligible firms and charities a one-off grant of up to £50,000 towards the cost of buying and then installing solar panels on their larger commercial and industrial roofs - think warehouses, factories and larger offices.

It’s all part of regional Mayor Dan Norris’s plan to help the West's firms cut their greenhouse gas emissions while easing the cost of energy bills - a win-win for companies, and the planet. Dan Norris, West of England Mayor, said: “The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority which I lead has a relentless focus on helping local firms and charities to save carbon and cut bills.

“This is even more important as the cost-of-doing-business crisis rages on. Apply today!"

Grants are available first come first served. Register for an application pack at www.westofengland-ca.gov.uk/growth-hub/green-business-support/rooftop-solar-grants/.
