Delivered by the University of the West of England, the Leadership Fundamentals Programme helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in the West of England develop in-house leadership skills with the aim of helping them to boost the skills within their team and grow their business.

The programme is run over 10-weeks and provides participants with practical tools and strategies to help them:

  • improve innovation
  • boost performance
  • drive business growth

The programme incorporates a mix of training, including self-awareness, foundational leadership principles and management skills. Participants who successfully complete the course will be certified with ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management.

The programme is open to managers and leaders across all levels and areas of an organisation. The programme will benefit those who want to improve their leaderships skills, are new to a leadership role and/or have limited to no previous management experience.

Eligibility

  • Be an SME (including Co-operatives, Community Interest Companies (CICs) or Charitable Companies) based in Bristol, South Gloucestershire or Bath and North-East Somerset
  • Employ a minimum of three staff members
  • Have at least one year of submitted accounts and a turnover of at least £100,000
  • Demonstrate clear potential for growth in turnover and/or employees
