Supporting AgencyUK with apprenticeship recruitment and upskilling

How the West of England Apprenticeship Service helped
After meeting Western Training Provider Network (WTPN) at a West of England Mayoral Combined Authority workshop, a structured partnership was formed.
This began with a needs analysis that identified a Level 6 Digital Marketer Degree Apprenticeship as the right fit for their team.
WTPN connected AgencyUK with TDM Training and has since supported additional pathways, including:
- progressing existing staff from Level 3 to Level 4 programmes
- creating new opportunities for interns to begin their careers
Jane and Katie’s friendly and human approach to our young members of staff has been so beneficial. The members of staff feel really comfortable having conversations with Jane about their career development, and Jane has been absolutely amazing at hand-selecting courses and training providers that she feels would most adequately support their training requirements as well as meeting the needs of our business.
This collaborative, end-to-end support has transformed apprenticeships from a time-consuming challenge into a strategic development tool aligned with AgencyUK’s values.
The Mayoral Priority Skills Fund (MPSF) provides flexible grant funding to meet current priority skills gaps in the region. These priorities have been identified through robust intelligence gathered showing there are gaps in current provision and that there is no other current funding available to meet this need.
Western Training Provider Network is funded by Mayoral Priority Skills Fund Mayoral Priority Skills Fund to deliver a programme called West of England Apprenticeship Service to support apprentice starts in the region and improve completion rates.
Western Training Provider Network support all groups; new applicants, all ages, unemployed, NEET, school/college leavers and existing staff to upskill and progress them into work and beyond. They support employers with guidance and work with training providers to ensure a robust and supportive programme.
