Grant supports Sasha Snow’s specialist film training
Through Culture West funding, Creative Director of Doc Film Labs Sasha Snow has developed 3 enrolment options for intensive in-person specialist film training for filmmakers, considering individual needs and circumstances for students.
They are now running practical, in-person courses with dedicated tutor support running from one of their two partnership venues in Bristol and Clevedon.
The funding enabled Sasha to complete the research and logistics phase to deliver these courses, creating working relationships with 3 venues, film kit hire company VMI, and hire insurance broker to make sure their students and their equipment are insured and protected.
They have also completed the web development and marketing strategy to increase uptake in enrolments.
How did the Creative Freelancer Grant help?
Sasha and his team deliver highly structured courses over a much shorter time frame and in much smaller groups.
By keeping the class size small, with a maximum of 6-9 students per intake, they can provide the level of individual support and attention that is necessary to make the training work.
The Doc Film Lab nurtures creativity by providing a guided, structured and safe learning environment in which to collaborate and explore with others.
The teaching was very profound. Sasha showed a lot of dedication to every single student and to every single project.
