Grant helps Raphaela Seck combine clay and wellbeing
Raphaela ran 4 workshops throughout the project combining a participatory talk on the nervous system and stress responses with a practical pottery activity (pinch pots and decoration).
With funding from a Creative Freelancer Grant, these workshops aimed to create a safe space in a creative environment where participants could explore self-regulation through somatic practices and making.
The workshops were held between July-August 2025 with 33 participants.
The grant funding allowed Raphaela to provide free, and donation-based accessible, creative workshops that combined nervous system education with hands-on clay work, making the workshops accessible to all without the financial barrier.
How did the Creative Freelancer Grant help?
The workshops delivered participatory, engaging sessions with high levels of audience interaction and discussion.
It also supported wellbeing outcomes with participants reporting feeling relaxed, gaining new insights about themselves, and enjoying both the reflective and practical aspects of the sessions.
The workshops reached a wide range of participants, including families and children, fostering inclusion and community connection.
