Creative Freelancer grant helps Esme Lower scale up her mural practice

Through Culture West funding, artist Esme has completed her largest mural to date - a 46ft piece for On Point Brewery in Bedminster.

The project transformed the brewery’s space while enhancing Esme’s artistic profile.

How the Creative Freelancer Grant helped

  • The funding enabled Esme to complete a 46ft mural in just four days, significantly upscaling her work
  • It supported her professional growth through equipment training, marketing strategies, and festival applications
  • She also collaborated with filmmaker Madelaine Grady Walsh to document the process, creating a valuable promotional film
  • The mural’s success has led to discussions about further branding work and mural expansion for the brewery.

The support from Culture West has allowed me to scale up my work and pursue new professional opportunities. Now, I’m aiming for larger festival commissions and even bigger projects in 2025.
